mistymasseyLast week I had composed a lengthy post about how to behave at faire, inspired by the rather sucky day we'd had. I never published it, and now I'm glad I didn't, because yesterday was incredible. I saw lots of old friends, the crowds at our shows were receptive, engaged and generous, and it just couldn't have been better.
We're not the only act on our stage. In between our shows, Master Franko performs his hypnosis act. Yesterday afternoon, during his last show of the day (which was just before our last show of the day), he had reached the portion of his show in which he gives his participants imaginary happy juice to drink. He tells them it will make them feel high as a kite, just like they've been drinking alcohol. Usually they all begin giggling and yelling silly things, but yesterday one woman at the end of the row suddenly leaned over and threw up on the stage!
I guess she doesn't hold her liquor very well. *laughs*
Yes, we had to wait for the stage managers to clean up the mess before we could dance our last show, but the audience was patient with our "technical difficulties", and we finished the day on a high note.
I wish I could be out at faire today, but there are page proofs awaiting my attention, not to mention about half a million other tasks. So it's to work I go. The rest of you should get outside and enjoy this gorgeous day!
