Aug. 27th, 2008 10:40 amToday in 410 AD, the Visigoths, having drunk all the wine, sung all the songs, danced with all the women and looted all the shops, left Rome and headed south to Africa to continue the par-tay. Alas, storms wrecked their ships, and the few Visigoths who didn't drown settled in Gaul instead. Wine's better there, anyway. (Or so they say...I prefer Australian wine myself.)
I have a million thoughts all fighting to be posts here today, but none of them are quite right. So here's an overview of my brain today:
FedEx is coming to leave a package and I left plastic to put over the package in case it rains but what if the driver is having a bad day and doesn't bother covering my package oh no!!!....I forgot to put the chicken out to thaw for dinner tonight....the student that was afraid the book he loved might not be appropriate for him nearly broke my heart. I hope he takes my advice seriously....speaking of students, I pray the two little girls protesting the "Golden Compass" poster aren't a sign of things to come....yep, still sunny outside....Hillary's speech last night was stunning. I've been a little grumpy about her supporters who claim to be feminists but then say Obama should have been a gentleman and "let" her win. faithhunter is making me a sursee and I can't wait to see it!....Everybody is going to DragonCon except me. Well, no, not everybody, but darn close to it. beatrizwench is delivering a secret package to my editor for me, so that makes it a little better....is that rain?
