Mar. 10th, 2009 05:45 pmToday, in 1940, American actor and martial artist Chuck Norris became incarnate. Chuck Norris doesn't read books, you know. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants. Many of my students attempt to follow his example, but they can't. Because they are not Chuck Norris.
Today I served as a testing monitor. Technically, this means I have to run errands for teachers so they don't have to leave the testing materials unguarded, and I have to troubleshoot the computers for those students who don't take the test on paper. In between the troubleshooting and errand running, I spend a lot of time sitting quietly in the hallway. So I always bring something to do. Today I had a book, my iPod and my notebook and pen. And I'll be damned if I didn't manage to write a whole short story!
It needs to be typed, of course, and edited. But still, it's there! On paper! It even has a title! I'm just a little tickled about that.
