May. 29th, 2009 01:10 pmToday in 1660, Charles II is restored to the throne of Great Britain. It happened to be his birthday as well. I've decided that I want to become ruler of a country for my birthday. You have until November. You can all go in together on it if you like.
Update - no further sightings of the vermicious k'nids (which is what I have decided I saw in my driveway the other day.) I will not be letting my guard down for even a day though.

davidbcoe sold a book and so did faithhunter, but that was all. It was my fault. Last year when Gail, Faith and I tried this, the weather turned hideous, and we ended up in the bookstore with the employees and not one other person, because the county was under a tornado warning. So this year I made the mistake of writing on Magical Words that we wouldn't have that weather problem again. And the weather gods heard me, and were displeased at my hubris, and sent mighty thunderheads of unusual size to hang over the mall and fling hail and rain and lightning until I repented. But we had a great time anyway - we sat together at the table talking and laughing and just couldn't be too upset about anything.
Today we're headed up to ConCarolinas for a weekend of wacky fun and adventure. My bag is packed, my handouts are stapled together, my bookmarks and cards are ready, my to-be-signed-by-Katherine-Kurtz books are in the bag and my shoes are on my feet. If we're going to see you there, please tell me "Hey!". If you can't make it, I hope we can convince you to make the trip next year.
Either way, everyone have fun and wang chung tonight!
