Oct. 22nd, 2008 09:00 pmToday in 1844, William Miller and his followers dressed in white robes, climbed up on a hilltop and sat down to wait for Jesus. He didn't show up.
Today I may have seen one of the signs of the coming Apocalypse, though. I had to get the oil changed in my car, so I went to the garage immediately after work. Without my husband. And the guys did not try to sell me anything extra. Usually they start about ten minutes after the car's in the bay, trying to convince me to buy some new flumptiwidget, 'cause without it I probably won't even make it home. *music of doom*
This time? Not a word. I'm keeping one eye on the skies.
