mistymasseyToday in 1926, Harry Houdini gave his final performance, suffering all the while from a 104 fever and severe pain due to a ruptured appendix. I know the show must go on, but this was a bit extreme.
My friend Gail Martin has a new book coming out soon - Dark Haven. She's set up a pretty neat giveaway, too. If you preorder Dark Haven, you'll get a whole basket of goodies from her recommended authors, one of whom is me! I don't know everything that's in the basket, but there could be downloadable bookmarks, book plates, short stories, and more. I've donated a "deleted scene" from Kestrel's world, a scene that gives a little insight into how the Danisobans work. Right now, the only place to get it is from Gail's goodie basket.
Gail will be signing books at the Carolina Renaissance Faire this weekend, so come on out if you want to get your hands on signed copies of her books. And come by the Dutch Door Stage after, where I'll be dancing both days. Yes, in the rain. Houdini and I, we're performers to the end.
