mistymasseyToday in 1807, The Embargo Act, forbidding trade with all foreign countries, was passed by the U.S. Congress, at the urging of President Thomas Jefferson. Two years later to the day, The Non-Intercourse Act, lifting the Embargo Act, was passed by the U.S. Congress. It just wouldn't be Christmas without Japanese video games under the tree.
Today I went out to do the last few gift card purchases. It was all going well - no crowds, no scary drivers, cashiers who'd only been on shift a little while and were still in pleasant moods - so I was feeling pretty happy myself. I stopped at the bookstore to pick up a magazine the Beetle wanted. On my way out, I passed an elderly man headed into the store. I smiled at him, and he, very seriously, announced, "I like guns."
And on another note, have you seen the Spot commercial featuring Les Stroud of Survivorman? I have no plans to be farther from civilization than a short trip down I-26 later this week, but right now I feel like I need a Spot GPS because Les told me I need it. Bear Grillz has nothing on my Survivorman!
