Dec. 31st, 2008 10:19 amToday in 1904, the first New Year's Eve celebration was held in Times Square (then known as Longacre Square) in New York, New York. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to find out that Dick Clark hosted.
Once again the calendar is changing. I have lunch in a little while with most of the old writing gang - woot! Thanks to
faithhunter for putting this together! Then tonight the guys and I will play board games until the ball drops.
Year In Review: 2008 Meme
1. Go to your calendar and find the first entry for each month of 2008.
2. Post the first line of it in your journal, and that's your year in review.
January: My beloved finished building my new desk (I helped - I built the drawers!) so today I worked from here.
February: I made my reservations for Denvention last week. I'll be trying very hard over the next few months not to think about how much I dislike flying.
March: My parents spent the last week in Texas on a bus tour. My mother took her copy of my book along to read. She called yesterday to tell me that she showed it off to the whole tour group. *grin*
April: Two more school days until Spring Break. Oh bliss, oh rapture!
May: I'm a sand dune, baby...erode me!
June: It was an amazing weekend at ConCarolinas, and I can't wait to talk about it.
July: My shins, quads and feet do not love Yasmine today. *groans in agony*
August: Don't get excited...no, no one has tried to option it yet.
September: I always find it interesting that Labor Day finds me either rearranging furniture or doing a huge house-cleaning.
October: This morning I opened Gmail and found a lovely fan letter from a reader, and a message from
beatrizwench urging me to go make my hotel reservations for DragonCon (which I did!)
November: NaNo began Saturday, but since I danced all day, I'm already behind.
December: We decorated the house for Christmas this weekend, me wearing my Pirate Santa hat (it has black fur instead of red) as we worked.
Happy New Year, everyone!
