May. 27th, 2009 06:59 pmToday in 1812, the women from Cochabamba, Bolivia, fight against the Spanish army in the Battle of La Coronilla. Today is also Mother's Day in Bolivia. I don't think I would ever talk back to my mother if I was Bolivian...
I had the skeeviest moment this morning, and I still have the shivers now. We were headed to the car to leave for school when the Beetle called me over to his side to look at something on the driveway. At first, I thought it was a slug with lots of waving tentacles all over itself. Then I bent to look closer. It was a colony of hundreds of tiny worms, all moving together across the driveway. It was so incredibly disgusting! I admit, I rolled over the mass of worms with my car tire, and went on to school with the total shivers. I searched the net but I couldn't find anything like what I'd seen. I even called the Farmer's Exchange and described it to the very patient man on the phone, but he was sure they were earthworms and I'm just...not.
So I remain skeeved. If there's another of them in the morning, I may have to go back in the house and never leave again. Nature is too much for me.

Date: 2009-05-28 07:43 pm (UTC)Chelsea wants to know if it looked like gillyweed (and then asked if you would know what she was talking about, I replied my beautiful friend is smart and a librarian and yes she will know!)
but yeah that would creep me out and make me want to hide in a really safe, worm free place... *shudder*

Date: 2009-05-29 01:22 pm (UTC)So far it (they!) have not shown up again. And yes, I did check my driveway yesterday morning before I went to school, to my husband's great amusement. I'm hoping it was a singular mutant that will be selected right back out of existence again.
