While filming Shakespeare In Love, Dame Judi Dench said she had to wear such high heels that director John Madden nicknamed her "Tudor Spice."

I had a great idea today, to see if there were any cheap flights to Atlanta to save me driving next week. Yes, there were. No, none of them fit my schedule. *sigh* Oh well, it's not all that far. And I have my pink card!

In my neverending quest to get rid of clutter in my house, I finally decided to sell my lute. I've had it for a while - it was a present from my parents when I thought I wanted to learn to play. I know now that I won't, so there's no reason for it to stay. Anyone have any ideas how I should go about finding serious, interested buyers? (Not eBay - I'm not willing to sell it for a pittance.)

Do you have a university or college nearby? Someone in the music department might be interested in buying your lute. Or perhaps ask people you know through your troupe or renaissance festival if they know someone who might be interested. With an item like that, word of mouth might be your best resource.

Good idea, thanks! I live a few miles from Winthrop University, so I'll give them a call tomorrow. I posted a message on a couple of the faire boards, so maybe something will come of that, too.

My niece just started here as a music major (tuba), so it was sort of fresh in my mind. :)

In my long life I have learned one thing about lute, you can never sell it for anything close to its true value. Or am I thinking of something else?
