After filming wrapped for Sleepy Hollow, actor Michael Gambon wanted to keep his severed prop head so he could send it to interviews and dinner parties in place of attending himself. Hee! This guy sounds like fun.

I voted today.

Sure, it was a small local election to fill a vacated House seat, but I still went. If anyone wonders why we have loudmouths and entitlement whores running our state, I can now tell you why. Because no one comes out to vote! My polling place had three screens set up, one helper to guide us. My husband and I walked in, and the ladies at the check-in table were almost giddy to see us. It shames me. My state is already pretty much a laughing stock in the nation, and now I see that everyone around me is too busy to bother changing anything.

But at least I voted.

My Grannie on Voting.

Grannie (b. 1889) remembered the day in 1913 when the suffragette Emily Davison jumped in front of the King's horse at the (UK) Derby Race, intending to stop it as a protest for Votes For Women, and was trampled to death. The whole country was shocked. Grannie told me and my sister that it was our duty to vote because someone had DIED for our rights.

Anyone who claims to live in a Democracy should vote, or relinquish any right at all to have an opinion on the way their country is run. I think that the Australian law that commands everyone to vote should be accepted in every democracy. That's just my not-so-humble opinion, of course!

well, shoot. If nobody there is voting, maybe all of us who don't like the way it's run should MOVE there, and vote! (*sigh*) Kind of a backward solution. But really.

I'm glad you're making an effort :)

I'm really enjoying the movie trivia, by the way!

I figure if I don't vote, I'm not allowed to complain -- so I vote. :P (Actually, I didn't vote in the primary this time -- because it was for the party's candidacy for one seat, and no one's running against her in the primary. Kinda pointless in that case.)
