mistymasseyToday in 969, Byzatine Emperor Nikephoros II was assassinated by his wife Theofano and her lover, the later Emperor John I Tzimiskes. Whoever thinks soap operas were invented in the 20th century obviously hasn't read any history at all.
My desk faces the windows that frame my front door, so at night I notice cars driving by. Tonight I couldn't help being distracted when I realized that I'd seen four pizza delivery cars drive by in the last half-hour. This wouldn't be all that interesting if I lived in town, or on a college campus, but I live on a short, one-way street with a relatively low number of neighbors. Apparently tonight was declared Neighborhood Pizza Night, and nobody told us.

faithhunter. She's had some heavy family problems the last few days, so she can use all the good energy y'all can send.
And speaking of people who could use good energy, if you haven't heard what happened to SF author Peter Watts, please go read. It's just wrong.
