Dec. 28th, 2009 09:25 pmToday in 1836, Spain recognized Mexico as an independent nation. Even though Mexico was trying to pass for a Klingon...
We are, at last, home. We'd spent three days with my family for Christmas, only to arrive home and discover that my husband's grandmother passed away on Christmas Day and we had to turn around and drive back south for the funeral. But all our travels seem to be finished at this point. At least I hope so. You can imagine I jump whenever the phone rings.
My beloved husband gave me an ergonomic split keyboard for Christmas, and I can't wait to plug it in and get back to typing comfortably. Yay! And I have now joined the Evil Empire...my parents gave me a Kindle! I've already bought and read two books and so far I have no complaints. I still adore paper books, but this thing is very handy for travel.
And alas, DragonCon turned down my application to be a guest in 2010. I'm not a "best fit" for the con. Honestly I'm not all that upset. Due to the gentle pleading of a dear friend, I've been considering going to SteamCon instead. Now that I don't have to spend money on the D*Con hotel, I can spend it on plane tickets.
