When Mad Kestrel first came out, I was honored to be invited to be a guest author on Dragonmount, the top Wheel of Time community on the net. The people were absolutely delightful, even after I admitted I hadn't read the books yet, and asked lots of engaging questions, keeping me on my toes for several days. One of the folks I met was a writer named Garrett Calcaterra, who shared my adoration of Tim Powers. Recently Garrett released his first book, a shared world adventure called The Roads to Baldairn Motte, and he asked me to give him a blurb. I was happy to oblige, because it was a fun story.
