Nov. 14th, 2008 05:12 pmToday in 1889, journalist Nellie Bly began an ambitious attempt to travel around the world in less than 80 days. She completed the trip in seventy-two. If I tried something like this, I'd probably end up stuck in an airport for three weeks.
I started out this morning in a foul mood, but things are looking up. The copy of Inkdeath I'd reserved came in to the library, and now it's in my greedy hands. Add to that my joy that tomorrow is my last day of dancing at faire. Don't misunderstand - I love dancing at faire. I wouldn't do it if I didn't. But when I get to the last couple of weeks, and the air is chilly and the sun goes down early, I find I'm ready for it all to be over. I want to sleep in on weekends again. I want to curl up on a Saturday afternoon with a good book and a cup of peppermint tea. I want to spend a Sunday in my jammies and slippers.
*sigh* I'm ready.
