I've been trying to get in touch with a couple of photographers to get a head shot done for the book's cover, but apparently photographers don't answer email. *sigh* The other day my mother-in-law was over, when I happened to be complaining about it.

She went home and pulled out a photo taken several Christmases ago, of me sitting on her couch. I'm turned sideways, so the picture is mostly my cheek and neck. She brought it over here, all excited that she'd found "the perfect picture for a book cover." According to her, I looked so elegant, my editor would just have a fit.

It was very hard to break the news to her that I needed a head shot that actually showed my face, and that I needed three 8x10s, not one 3x5. I told her as gently as I could, poor thing. I still don't think she quite understood that I wasn't simply being picky.

Back I go on the search for a photographer. Surely there's someone who wants to take a picture of me...

I wish you were up here. autumncat is one of the best portrait photographers that I've seen and I know the price would be good. *sigh*
