That was fun!
Mar. 10th, 2007 11:35 amI had my photo shoot this morning for the book cover author photo. We met my photographer out at Allison Creek, a fairly secluded area with lots of trees and water. (
philipmcavery came along as my props guy. *hee*) We started with me in ordinary clothes, and I posed near the water's edge and on the dock (much to the interest of the weekend fishermen who were also there.) After about 30 shots, we stopped so I could garb up in hat and bodice, then took nearly 100 shots of me on the dock and by the water with my weapons in hand.
I'll get to see the proofs Monday. (Another advantage to using an unknown freelancer - I don't have to wait weeks for the proofs.) Which means I'll probably be able to ship off the chosen photo to Tor by this time next week. Yay!
I haven't decided whether to use a garb photo or a plain one. On the one hand, I tend to be adorable in my garb. But if I plan to write something that's not pirate-related later on down the road, I don't want to be so type-cast that I can't use my name. But I'll wait until I see the proofs to decide. And if I can't make up my mind, I'll send my top choices to my editor and leave it to him.
I'm so excited!
