Stop me, before I spend again!

The Beetle asked this weekend if I would take him to the Joseph-Beth Bookstore in Charlotte on Monday. He was feeling the need for more mangas, or possibly some new D&D books. Being the loving mother I am, I drove him there this morning. He didn't find anything he wanted. I, however, found something. Five somethings:

grrm's A Feast for Crows, which I never finished reading when I got it from the library. This way I can take my time;
A lovely bargain-priced hardcover of Lindsey Davis' Scandal Takes A Holiday, which I've read but didn't own;
Living Next Door to the God of Love by Justina Robson, nominated for the John W Campbell Memorial Award;
Hope Mirrlees' Lud-in-the-Mist; and
Snake Agent, Liz Williams' first novel in the Inspector Chen series.

And I'm not even sorry. So there.

You'll have to tell me what you think of Lud in the Mist. fingle and I read it because Tim Powers raves about it. Our reactions were very different from each other's.

I bought it on Tim's recommendation, too. Just took me a long time to find a copy. I'll let you know what I think!
