I lied. But no one called me on it.
Sep. 4th, 2007 12:55 pmAlas, no one wanted to call me on my lie. I imagine so many people were off having a wonderful time at Dragon*Con, they never even saw my challenge. *sniff sob* I shall reveal it nonetheless...
Number Three was the bald-faced lie. I don't fish. No way, no how. My idea of a good time on a boat is with a book in one hand and a drink in the other.

I finished reading
scott_lynch's new book, Red Seas Under Red Skies, and I'm terribly depressed. The book was wonderful, of course. But the second half of the book features a female pirate captain. *pout* She's not the main character, though, so I hope it won't conflict with my book too much. But he's also got a character with the same name as one in the book I'm working on now. And it's a pretty unusual name, so perceptive readers would possibly catch it. I anguished over changing it all weekend, because it's the perfect name for my character and I've spelled it differently. But I finally decided that I'm keeping the name. Scott will just have to deal with it (not that I imagine he's too worried about competition from me. *grin*) And anyone who thinks I stole from him is welcome to be cranky about it at their leisure.

Date: 2007-09-04 02:28 pm (UTC)I knew you didn't fish, so I couldn't comment or call you on it.
It wouldn't have been fair...
*grins*
But I do now have a wonderful image of you in dance garb standing in the bow of a boat with a fishing rod...and a fish on the end of the line...and a totally *eeeewwwwww* look on your face.
