beatrizwench, imploring me to "Pick up! Pick up! Pick up this phone!" Since I wasn't home to obey, she went on to tell me that she was in Joseph-Beth Books and that she'd seen a banner announcing my upcoming launch event. She took a photo with her cell phone to show me later, and I was pleasantly excited.
Today being the Beetle's birthday and a day off from school, we decided to go visit the store so he could spend his gift card (he thanks you again, Bea!) Despite having been warned it was there, I was still caught off-guard by the banner. It's got to be six feet long, and it's gorgeous! I held on to the stair railing and just stared for a few minutes, getting my head settled. Cheryl, who's a friend and a manager there, told me I could probably have it when the signing's done.
I'm not sure who's having the better day - the birthday boy or me.
