They loves me not, they loves me
Feb. 20th, 2008 07:15 pmI called a bookstore in my hometown to try and arrange a signing next month (since I'll be in town for a family event, I thought I'd take advantage of the time.) The manager of the store ducked my first call, and when I did happen to catch her on my second, she didn't let me explain who I was and what I wanted, instead claiming to be on another line and saying she'd call me back. Even though I knew perfectly well she wouldn't.
It was a little depressing.
Today at work, the Follett rep came in, and started chatting me up about the book. He was genuinely interested, and told me he'd recommended to his higher-ups they should add Mad Kestrel to the Follett library catalog.
I'm feeling kinda good after all.
And in other news, I made myself cry while writing a scene last night. That's new for me, and I'm a little tickled about it.
