Remember yesterday when I said the bookstore manager blew me off and wouldn't talk to me? My mother took her copy of my book down to the bookstore and talked to the manager herself. The manager was significantly impressed - the first thing she said was "Ooh, she's with a legitimate publisher!" She wrote down the ISBN to put on her next order, and offered to put a poster in the window of her store for me. She did tell Mama that signings don't usually work out well in her store, because of their location (it's way off the beaten track) but then suggested a competitor, because the competitor has a better location. Mama said the manager was just as nice as she could be, and seemed very excited about the book.

Every pirate needs a mama like her.
