People had told me that Joseph-Beth knew how to do signings up right, and they weren't kidding! Jamie (the marketing coordinator) put me near the fantasy section, by the fireplace, brought me a water and made the announcement over the loudspeaker. Before I knew it, pirates were surrounding me!





At one point, there was actually a line of people waiting to see me!



My darling thalionar, her handsome fellow B and the Princess brought me a box of nummy Belgian chocolates and a pirate hat cookie that I am loath to unwrap and eat - it's so nifty! The delightful kaeleigh_faire brought me a handsome buccaneer bear.
I ran out of books twice, but the bookstore folks were quick to restock me. When the smoke cleared, I had sold 45 of the 50 books on hand, and Jamie was delighted. She suggested that I might come back sometime, and I gladly agreed. She gave me the fabulous six-foot banner announcing my signing, and a lovely gift bag full of goodies. When we got home, she'd also posted a quick write-up about the day on the Joseph-Beth Myspace, and posted a few more pictures there.

Right about the time I was ready to walk to the car, the heavens opened up, but a crowd of us managed to go to Sir Edmond Halley's for a late lunch. We arrived at the end of a pub crawl group's visit, so our poor waiter was running frantically around. But once the crawlers crawled on their way, she relaxed and we all had a wonderful time. beatrizwench had to be out of town this weekend, but she had arranged for a delicious chocolate cake to be delivered via missrose, so we shared the cakey goodness after lunch. Yay! The cake was NOT a lie!



At last we all had to be on our way, so kisses and hugs were exchanged, and off we went. I was so lucky to spend such a great day with some of my most beloved people. I hope you all enjoy the book, my loves.

Glad it all went well, Hon!! BTW, you can blame philipmcavery for the cake. He was instrumental to it going from "hair-brained Bea idea" to walking in the door via missrose.

We finished Season One of Rome tonight...and I'm a wreck! But wow, was it ever good.
