I can't find a book I just promised to lend to a friend. I have turned the house upside-down. It's making me crazy! I hope that I lent it to another friend and just forgot.

Because if it's lost in this house.... *cue swelling Clannad music*... I WILL FIND IT.

My wife is very much the same. Even if I say "never mind", as I am wont to do on these occasions, she goes ahead and keeps looking anyway.

I have a somewhat photographic memory of the stuff in my house, so when I can't find an object, it makes me frantic. I can't give up! But I've reached the conclusion that I've lent the book out, so now I'm trying to determine which friend I might have felt would enjoy it. :D
