Earth Fare opened in town last week. The husband and I went to visit while the Beetle was out on a Scouting endeavor.
I really should not be allowed to walk in the door of that store. And the husband needs his memory wiped of ever having heard about it. I swear, I think we may have rescued this nation from the recession all by ourselves this morning. But there were so many good, healthy, delicious items that kept leaping magically into our chi-chi little shopping cart. Goat milk! Fresh (really!) shrimp! Mead (okay, it's Chaucer's, but that'll do until I can find the good stuff again)! Raw milk cheese! The most gorgeous produce I've seen since...ever! Black sesame crackers! Gravlax! And some Ethiopian coffee that nearly made me weep.
The prices weren't any higher than local grocery stores' prices. Which made it far harder to walk away. I did, however, manage to avoid the temptation of the pastry case. But who knows if I'll retain that control next time?
