I Don't Like Mondays (but who does?)
Jun. 30th, 2008 10:36 amActually it's not so bad when it's a summer Monday. I updated the website this weekend, booked my flight, and managed another chapter yesterday. I have a page goal to reach today, and it's a bit of a doozy, so before I disappear from the 'net for the day, I did want to post my latest read.
Thanks to the recommendation of my buddy
dreadpiratetait, I found a copy of John Zakour and Lawrence Ganem's novel, The Plutonium Blonde. This was a total romp! Zachary Nixon Johnson is the last real private detective on Earth, which makes him something of a star and sometimes impedes him from doing his job. He's hired by the gorgeous BB Star, CEO of the ExShell Corporation, to find and incapacitate her murderous robot clone before it can kill her instead. If you're a fan of Glen Cook's Garrett P.I. series, this will probably appeal to you, too. While Garrett lives and works in the fantasy city of TunFaire, Zachary pounds the pavement of Earth in 2057. Androids, hovercars, psi secretaries, and a supercomputer installed in Zach's head to work as his partner...it's all there, along with some painfully terrible jokes that happen to work beautifully.
Go, read. I'll be over here in the corner, writing frantically.
