Last night, we drove to my husband's boss' lakeside home for a get-together (no, neither of us know what the occasion was, but it's always a good idea to attend when the boss invites you!) We were sitting at a table with three other couples, eating crab legs and chatting, when Bruce (our host) walked over and announced "Did y'all know about Misty? She's a published author!" He then brought out the copy I'd signed for him to pass around. He kept doing this all evening, every time someone new wandered in. I won't say the attention wasn't flattering...'cause it was. I, like many others, love to be petted and fawned over. But it was also a little weird to be shown off like that. After a while, I found myself steering conversation away from the book just to be able to relax. Luckily the weather was lovely so we could drive home with the top down on Todd's car. A little rushing wind does wonders to clear one's mind of worries.

In other news, I just got word that I'm on 5 panels for WorldCon! Woot!

They all sound like fun, I'm available for dinners if they happen to come up, and I get Wednesday and Saturday to relax and enjoy the fun. Cool!
