Today in 1057, Macbeth was killed in the Battle of Lumphanan in Aberdeenshire. He had been king of Scotland for 17 years. Not a bad record for that day and age, really.

My luggage is finally home, so I feel like I'm finally finished with my gallivanting for the summer. (It rode with [livejournal.com profile] faithhunter across country, to save me the cost and frustration of dealing with it in the airports.) I'll do my laundry this weekend, so I can spend Monday having fun. Sixth graders come in Tuesday, and the others join them Wednesday. At which point I'll begin the countdown to summer again. Don't get me wrong - it's one of the best jobs a writer could have, but I still can't help wishing for the two months that belong solely to me every summer.
