I can't believe this...SHE IS BACK.

She is currently building a web across the window next to my front door. I went out to talk to her, and we agreed that as long as she builds across the window and does not impede my doorway, she can stay.

That's right, I was on my front porch talking to a spider.

Quite a persistent lady isn't she? This is the type of stuff stories are made of. I know there is something deep in the thought that she crossed back into your yard, leaving a world of her very own next door, just to come back to yours and build a third time. Surely there is meaning in that?

We have an agreement that as long as they stay out of the way they're good to go. I realize that they do a darn good job of keeping the other bugs at bay, and so I try not to disturb them too much. Sometimes the webs by the door get to be too many and I have to clean up behind them. Maybe they appreciate it, I don't know. :)

We had one just like that, but luckily it wasn't building in traffic paths, just this one opening in the porch. And yes, HUGE webs!

There's mine, at night w/flash.

We apparently have a frog that has taken up residence on our front stoop. He's spotted and about the size of a fist. He came up on the stoop to investigate a mug filled with cigarette buts (belonging to someone else in the house).

He eventually hopped off into the grass but came back. He's currently parked himself on the actual threshold itself. He's sitting on the metal covered wood that juts out from the bottom of the door. Even when we open the door he just sits there, hanging out, breathing in and out rather casually.

At least he's sitting there facing outward. If he was smack up against the door facing the door itself we'd all be a bit creeped out.

As it is it's almost as if he's standing guard at the door.
