Today in 1400, Owain Glyndŵr was declared Prince of Wales by his followers. I took British History as an elective in college. On a test, I spelled Glyndŵr's name the Welsh way, and had it counted wrong. When I protested, the teacher told me that if I could bring in a book that proved it was spelled that way, I could have the points. I brought three.

Today a group of sixth graders came in for their biweekly library visit. The media specialist gave them all a scavenger hunt, and one of the items to find was "The title of the book Ms Massey wrote". One little guy approached me and asked for the title. And the following conversation ensued:

Him - "Wait a minute. You wrote this book?
Me - "I did."
Him - "With your own hands?"
Me (smiling) - "Yep, with my own hands."
Him - "Wow. You wrote that whole book. That's so cool."
Me - "Thank you."
Him (getting excited) - "I can't believe I know somebody famous."
Me - "I'm not famous, sweetie, not by a long shot."
Him - "Listen, I have connections. I know people. You ever need anything, you let me know."

I have a feeling this kid is destined to be a record producer. :D
