Today in 959, Edgar the Peaceable became king of all England. I sympathize with his brother Edwy, who was minding his own business running Mercia and Northumbria until Edgar marched in and took them. My sister used to take my things, too.

This morning I opened Gmail and found a lovely fan letter from a reader, and a message from beatrizwench urging me to go make my hotel reservations for DragonCon (which I did!) Later on a coworker told me she'd started reading my book, and was surprised to discover that I "really knew how to write." *laughs*

This has been one of the better days I've had in a while.
