Today in 1982, The Mary Rose, a Tudor gunship which sank on July 18 1545, was raised from the sea bed in the Solent Channel, near Portsmouth. As far as I know, it was not crewed by the damned and captained by a man so evil Hell itself spat him back out, but then again, I didn't ask.

I filled in this morning for the lovely Yasmine, who had a prior commitment and could not emcee the first two dance shows at faire. During the first show, I might have inadvertently set the sound equipment on fire (it's a long and technology-heavy story, but if you really want to know, buy me a cider at faire and I'll tell you in person.) Before the second show, we thought the equipment was all better, until I put the microphone on. I hadn't flipped the switch to "on", but it was feeding back anyway. (Don't ask me why - I'm just a dancer.) So I yanked the stupid thing off and used my regular voice. Most of the audience seemed to hear me just dandy.

Now I'm home and showered and fed, and sitting down to finish my page proofs. Everyone having a shiny day? Good.

I am *so* buying the cider when next I see you. Gotta figure the story is worth at least twice the price.

its really wierd you mention the mary rose 'cause i took the twins to the archery demo at mdrf today and the narrator/host/whatever that was telling us all about the history of archery talked about it.
