Today in 1307, hundreds of Knights Templar in France were arrested by agents of Philip le Bel, accused of heresy, tortured and burned at the stake. This resulted in the final disbanding of the order. Philip wasn't so concerned about their souls - he owed them a monstrous amount of money, so this was his easiest course to erasing that debt. Nothing like the direct approach.

Yesterday was a great day for dancing, but a lousy day for tips. Every show seemed to come off without any hitches, and the audiences were appreciative and noisy. I'm afraid it's going to be like that all season, because of the economy. People don't have to pay us, so they won't. Oh well...at the end of the day, I met an Egyptian couple and their daughter who told us that we were better than many Egyptian dancers they'd ever seen. Wheeeeee!

The Spartan made his final faire appearance yesterday. Partly because the weather is getting cooler quickly, and partly because the faire gives him such grief. Apparently the hootchie in her bikini top and thong shorts is appropriately dressed but he's not. *sigh* He will be returning to his doublet and tights for the rest of the run, and saving the Spartan look for another time. Maybe DragonCon...

Today I'm off my day job, so I'll be finishing page proofs and having sushi with faithhunter and Kim Harrison. I love teacher workdays.

Sorry that the Spartan is getting grief, hon. I think he looks good--and I am a firm believer that that look is a priveledge, not a right.

However, I'll never, EVER object to seeing him in tights. Reowr!

amazing what the faires will and will not allow.. maybe if he added a shirt of some sort? just a suggestion for future enjoyment hehehehe He did look nice in the pic (as you did by the way)

Have a wonderful day, our schools don't have Columbus day off. It's funny you think it would almost be a required day off for schools, and many are off, but I never went to a single school that had the day off and neither have any of my kids. wierd. Used to annoy my dad because his family does a big family campout that weekend and we could never come because of the kids having school on Monday. Oh well, no huge loss lol, my dad and I sometimes rub each other wrong and I am not big on camping so.. all is ok

Aww - that kinda sucks for tips, but no worries - I'm sure there will be plenty of weekends for tips! Just enjoy yourself. :)
